SVP - Data Governance Foundation Sr Lead Analyst (Hybrid)

The Data Governance Foundation Sr Lead Analyst is a leadership position in Citi’s Chief Data Office (CDO) within the Chief Operating Office (COO) organization. The mandate of COO is to lead the Transformation efforts of the firm to deliver client excellence, improved operating efficiency and returns. As part of COO, the CDO organization is responsible for an enterprise-wide effort to transform and strengthen the firm’s data, modernize data infrastructure while simplifying the data operating model and executing the strategic priorities for the firm. The CDO defines and enforces data-related policies and standards across Citi and equips the firm with the tools required to take ownership and accountability for data governance and management. The CDO comprises of four functional groups: Business Aligned Data Leads, Core Data Delivery, Data Enablers, and Data Functions & Partners.

The Data Governance Foundation Sr Lead Analyst is responsible for overseeing the Data Governance Risk and Controls Strategy, adoption of Data Risk Control Framework, and the management of Data Risk Issues for the COO and CBNA Regulatory Engagement team.

This role necessitates strong communication skills for internal negotiations, especially at a senior level. Effective communication and diplomacy skills are essential to guide, influence, and persuade colleagues from different departments and external customers when needed. The position carries accountability for delivering substantial business outcomes or providing expert advice on business operations.

Responsibilities:

Data Governance Risk & Controls Strategy

  • Lead the implementation of the Data Governance Risk and Controls Strategy for the COO and CBNA Regulatory Engagement team.

  • Maintain Procedure documents that are comprehensive, clearly understood, and can be shared with Regulators, Internal Audit and internally.

Data Risk Control Adoption

  • Program manage the delivery of the Data Risk Control Framework

  • Monitor compliance and identify areas for improvement.

  • Take charge of implementing and concluding Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) accurately, comprehensively, and in a timely manner.

  • Knowledgeable in conducting an effective Risk Control Self-Assessment or Manager’s Control Assessment

Data Risk Issues

  • Design and implement processes for managing issues identified relating to Data Governance Policy and Standards.

  • Maintain a deep understanding of local legal frameworks, rules, and regulations governing data collection, storage, and use.

  • Collaborate with other CDO teams to ensure a uniform approach to addressing COO and CBNA data risk findings, developing corrective action plans, and responding to 2nd/3rd Lines of Defense reviews.

Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years of pertinent experience in Banking and Financial Services, coupled with 6-10 years of managerial expertise.

  • 6-10 years of relevant background in Data Governance, Data Management, Process Engineering, or similar fields. Having subject matter knowledge in Data Governance, Data Risk, Control Framework, and Policy development is a plus.

  • Demonstrated history of success as a Program or Project Manager, handling large, strategic cross-functional projects.

  • Effective communicator skilled in delivering multi-mode communications tailored to diverse audiences, adept at driving consensus and fostering relationships at all levels.

  • Strong analytical and problems-solving abilities, with a keen understanding of the enterprise data vision.

  • Advocate for a positive risk culture that fosters sustainable business growth through transparent engagement and partnership, with zero tolerance for failure.

  • Strong data and technological knowledge, covering recent topics such data governance, data domains.

  • Strong leadership experience in a Business Unit/Function role

  • Familiarity with and ability to influence the Business Unit/Function being supported.

  • Proven ability to execute large complex change programs.

  • Strong project management leadership

  • Analytical ability to develop and implement new concepts and tools.

  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred

$156,160.00 - $234,240.00
