Linux System Administrator
What does a successful Linux System Administrator do at Fiserv?
As a member of our Linux operations team, you administer support on various Linux platforms with a focus on Redhat Enterprise Linux, where your expert work improves the solutions that power more than 13,000 banks systems and businesses worldwide.
What you will do:
Administer and configure various Linux platforms (Redhat Enterprise, Oracle Enterprise, CentOS, SUSE), including systems configuration, monitoring, security, network infrastructure, virtualization, interoperability, and testing protocols
Develop automation solutions using PowerCLI and scripting languages (ksh, Perl, Python) to enhance the management of all platforms, ensuring robust system security and efficient operations
What you will need to have:
4+ years of experience understanding software design for the purpose of creating scripts, programs, and web-based applications for system administration, and automation of general tasks and reports
3+ years of experience in patch management for Redhat/Oracle Enterprise Linux using various tools (satellite server, spacewalk, ansible, tanium), leading vulnerability remediation efforts with a deep understanding of CIS hardening frameworks, and expertise in deploying patches and troubleshooting middleware support issues
3+ years of experience leading and supporting ITIL processes (capacity, change, release, and incident management), recommend best practice configurations for Redhat/Oracle Enterprise Linux, document ESX(i) and Linux systems for audit compliance, and execute/validate changes during maintenance windows with an understanding of PKI using base-64 and Java keystore formats
3+ years of experience utilizing application server technologies (Weblogic, Websphere, JBoss, Tomcat) and contribute to maintaining organizational audit and compliance requirements (e.g., PCI, SSAE16) by mitigating vulnerabilities, applying patches and OS updates, and providing evidence of compliance to auditors
Bachelor’s degree or a combination of work, education, and military experience
What would be great to have:
VMWare and Linux (RHEL) administration
Background in VMWare and cloud platforms (Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Azure, AWS, Google)
A knack for troubleshooting tough problems and automating solutions
