Vistra Program Manager, PMO in Irving, Texas

Job Summary

The Program Manager will lead the execution of large-scale, enterprise-wide initiatives using Vistra's program management methodology. This role involves delivering results that meet business requirements and priorities, mentoring junior team members, and ensuring effective project organization, communication, and quality delivery.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform project and portfolio management functions, including, but not limited to: coordination/creation of business requirements specification, user stories, project workplan, release and sprint planning.

  • Provide summarized status for all major projects to the executive team, including updates on activities and deliverables, as well as risks and mitigation strategies.

  • Advise leadership of program/project, status, risks, and resource planning for strategic IT and business initiatives.

  • Assume a leadership role in educating the business, vendors and technical community on Project and Program management methodologies, processes and procedures.

  • Consult with individual project managers/leaders on emergent practices, processes and methodologies to ensure they are understood and followed to promote the consistent delivery of quality solutions; help the project team understand how their individual project’s objectives tie to overall strategic goals.

  • Ensure the continuous improvement of the program management methodology, processes and policies in order to maximize the benefits and minimize risk of future projects and support Vistra IT long and short term goals.

  • Work with senior leadership to define, monitor and reinforce team culture, norms and operating practices.

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements

  • 8-10+ years of project/program management experience leading large scale projects or enterprise initiatives.

  • Must have demonstrated experience with and a passion for project and program management concepts and techniques, including Agile and Waterfall.

  • Ability to balance the drive for uninterrupted business growth with necessary processes and procedures.

  • Ability to learn quickly, be self motivated to improve knowledge and tackle new challenges.

  • Exceptional organizational skills, communication skills, and attention to detail required.

  • Professional certification (e.g., PMP, CCMP, CSM) a plus.

  • Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to above skills

  • Program/Project Status Updates: Ensure clear and accurate communication of current statuses.

  • Financial Accuracy: Provide timely and precise financial forecasts and adjustments.

  • Timely Project Delivery: Achieve project milestones and deadlines consistently.

  • Stakeholder Satisfaction: Maintain high levels of satisfaction among stakeholders.

  • Project Governance: Implement Vistra governance practices to ensure compliance and oversight throughout project execution.
