Project Manager, Enterprise Data Strategy and Governance
High Level Job Description
A successful candidate in this position will lead team(s) of employees and consultants to implement solutions under our Enterprise Data Strategy and Governance Program (EDSG) to support various data and analytics initiatives. The EDSG Program is one of the enterprise priorities for 2025 onwards and the scope includes Data Warehouse setup and extraction, data cleansing and data source corrections, master data management, and analytics projects. The candidate needs to have excellent communications skills and a strong desire to deliver results while managing multiple projects simultaneously. This is a hands-on project manager position and requires the incumbent to lead all phases of project i.e., design, development, implementation, deployment, and maintenance. In this role you are part of the EDSG PMO organization, and you report to the Director for EDSG Program.
Responsibilities for Project Manager
Project Management
Manage, deliver, and support EDSG implementations that identify, design, and implement creative business solutions and technology solutions for Flowserve.
Manage implementation risk, manage project economics including planning and budgeting, define deliverable content
Ensure buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels at the business, as well as IT governance, and be accountable for execution.
Manage the day-to-day interactions with business management, IT, and Sponsor.
Coach, mentor, and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
Ensure end to end project governance and execution in line with the IT standards.
Lead a cross-functional team to achieve project requirements, deadlines, and schedules.
Use technology to ensure all parties are informed about schedule and budget.
Keep stakeholders informed throughout the project lifecycle.
Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels and escalate issues, as necessary, according to project work plan.
Data Management
Coordinate creation of standardized mapping templates and design format files to extract and harmonize/standardize data from source systems.
Coordinate data harmonization across different business applications and/or correction of data definitions, master data, list of values, business process, or procedural changes to harmonize the data in the source systems.
Work with IT to establish the data extraction, staging, mapping/harmonization rules, data structures and dashboards to support the curated data warehouse, as well as making the appropriate changes to the source systems to standardize the extraction going forward.
Coordinate documenting all the steps of the functional and technical actions taken to extract, harmonize, and standardize the data, including:
Data lineage, meta data management, data catalog
Business, functional, and technical design documentation
All testing and sign-off documentation to provide the evidence for a properly executed project and data governance process
Coordinate or perform development and maintenance of analytics dashboards as proof of concept and final usage from the curated data warehouse.
Work with the business (data governance and data steward council) to define and establish standardized publishing methods, formats, and reporting services.
Maintain, test and improve business and systems operations once brought to production and in normal operations.
Skills and Qualifications for Project Manager
To be successful in this position, you will either hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business administration, information technology, business analytics, or operational research and 5-7 years of work experience in project management, business analytics, data analytics, and/or process design in fields such as Logistics, Supply Chain, Materials, Finance, IT, Data or Industrial Manufacturing environments where you attained:
Excellent oral and written communication skills required (in English). Other languages are a plus.
Affinity with ERP and other IT Systems (Oracle, SAP, BPC, PowerBI, MS Office).
Smartsheet and/or Microsoft Projects experience
Strong organizational, time management, and presentation skills to effectively communicate with all levels in the organization and possesses the ability to work in a cross-functional matrix environment.
The ability to handle multiple projects or project tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to map current and future desired state for IT and Operational processes and create roadmaps out of that.
Work experience in a manufacturing industry will be an added advantage.
Possesses the ability to work in a cross-functional matrix environment
Certification in PMP-PMI, Prince2, Agile-scrum and/or Lean-6sigma are a plus.
Additional Info
Position can be in NA or Europe from one of our facilities.
Candidate must be willing to travel, when required, up to 25-30% NAM and Europe, traveling to any of the world-wide Flowserve sites.
