Job Description

The Department of Media Arts, Sciences, and Studies is creating a pool of qualified candidates for part-time and full-time lecturer positions for openings during the 2024-25 academic year. Possible areas may include but are not limited to, courses in: Introductory Photography, Introductory Filmmaking, Screen Studies, Writing for Screen Media, and Government and Media.

Terminal degree (Ph.D. or M.F.A.) preferred. Applicants with an undergraduate degree in a film or television-related area of media production and substantial industry experience may also be considered. We prioritize candidates who have a record of successful college teaching and who share our commitment to professional preparation within the context of an interdisciplinary and immersive liberal arts education. A wide variety of specialties will be considered including, but not limited to, postproduction, animation, experimental cinema, cinematography, directing, sound design, audio mixing, editing, and lighting.

All bargaining unit faculty members shall be covered by the collective bargaining agreement between Ithaca College and Services Employees International Union, Local 200 United. Part-time or adjunct bargaining unit employees are all part-time faculty employed by Ithaca College at its Ithaca, New York campus including but not limited to faculty in the titles of Lecturer or Adjunct. Hiring rate: $1,848.27 per credit hour.
