Prysmian Group Multi-craft Maintenance Technician in Jackson, Tennessee

Prysmian Group Corporation, a leading wire & cable manufacturer located in Jackson, TN, has immediate openings for Multi-craft Maintenance Technician. The working schedule will be 7PM- 7AM.

Complete all maintenance tasks (electrical and mechanical) as assigned. Provide feedback to supervisor as required to improve the department. Utilize job related software to manage work assigned. Be engaged in processes to reduce maintenance downtime. Must have a safety first mentality.

CORE TASKS

  • Promote safety, environmental, and housekeeping throughout the facility

  • Troubleshoot, inspect and repair equipment during downtime events

  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks on equipment

  • Maintain shift work records in order to track work completed

  • Inspect and understand technical aspects of oil pumps, water pumps, pneumatic conveying dust collection, bearing installation, coupling alignment, blowers, fans and rotary valves

  • Work with supervisors and operators to try and solve downtime issues

  • Safely perform electrical troubleshooting on electrical systems in a manufacturing environment ( circuits, controls, motors and starters)

  • Keep production lines up and running in order to ensure customer expectations are met

  • Must be able to read schematics and technical resources to help in troubleshooting

  • Work with other maintenance personnel on projects and preventative maintenance tasks

  • Maintain a strong working relationship with the other departments and functions throughout the plant

  • Complete other tasks as required

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Must have some welding experience in Arc & Mig on mild steel, stainless and aluminum

  • Must possess working knowledge of modern, automated manufacturing systems

  • Must have working knowledge of PLCs

  • Basic understanding of wire making and compound processes

  • Forklift certification

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Able to lift 50lbs.

  • Must be able to walk the entirety of a 135,000 foot plant as needed during a normal workday consisting of machine breakdowns

  • Climb up to a 15-foot ladder as required on a frequent basis, as well as stooping, bending and crawling

  • Must be able to work in a changing, dusty manufacturing environment

  • Associates Degree or equivalent in maintenance related field with 2 years minimum maintenance experience or 5 years maintenance experience working in a lean manufacturing environment
