Introduction:
Our new Boeing Jacksonville facility is seeking Aviation Maintenance Professionals that are motivated to support a greater cause in directly impacting military warfighter readiness by providing critical maintenance repairs and modifications to the Navy’s P-8A Poseidon. We are proud knowing the products we return to service will strengthen global security.
Due to an expected high applicant rate for this program, this advance requisition is posted for the sake of identifying talented professionals eager to join the Boeing team. Candidates will be identified incrementally for a candidate pool over the course of the next 12 months as we commence this new statement of work, and continue to scale upward with increasing staffing requirements.

The professionals chosen to fill these positions will join our MRO organization, working as part of a team in support of our key programs. The candidates chosen will be responsible for adherence to established processes, accurate and timely work recording and contractual/regulatory compliance. To ensure we continue to support our customers, we are looking for skilled aircraft maintenance professionals to join our team. Successful applicants will be based in Jacksonville, FL.
P-8A Poseidon:
The Boeing P-8 Poseidon is a commercial derivative military aircraft developed by Boeing Defense based on a modified design of the 737-800ERX. The platform was initially developed for the US Navy, first flown in 2009 and introduced into service in 2013. The Aircraft is fitted with equipment to tackle a diverse range of missions, including submarine hunting, performing reconnaissance missions and supporting search & rescue operations. Our program will retrofit the highly capable Multi-mission platform for the next decade.
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform modification of commercial derivative aircraft
Perform removal of existing equipment and components from the aircraft
Fabricates and assembles metal components and makes major/minor modification to aircraft skin; installs rivets and metal fasteners
Perform installation of components and equipment onto the aircraft
Perform close tolerance assembly operations such as: shimming, fitting, trimming, and aligning
Highlight any technical issues, discrepancies or other issues to the program lead and manager
Perform rework of assembled components
Identify different types of corrosion
Clean and treat corrosion, remove damaged areas, fabricate parts to repair damaged area, determine rivet patterns, layouts, etc.
Clearly document maintenance and repair actions, equipment status tags, logs, parts requests, etc.
Order parts, pan stock, tools, material and equipment as required to perform assigned duties
Assembles aircraft structures and associated components. Familiar and capable of using the following tools and resources
Jigs and fixtures by drilling, filing, honing, reaming, counter-sinking, dimpling, burring and fastening under general supervision
Setup and use a variety of precision measuring instruments such as: dial indicators, micrometers, gauges, protractors and calipers
Common hand tools such as: dills, reamers, deburrers, files, rivet guns, bucking bars, etc.
General Responsibilities:

Communicate using basic computer systems including but not limited to Microsoft Office as needed to complete essential job requirements

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company processes and procedures
Maintain a high standard of organization and cleanliness within assigned work areas, “Clean as You Go”
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Be flexible to ensure aircraft are delivered on time to customer
Perform other duties as directed by management for the benefit of the company, program or employee(s)
Be an effective team member displaying appropriate behaviors including Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
Level 1 (Entry Level; can perform the above tasks and requires supervision)
Level 2 (Associate Level; Can perform the above tasks with little or general supervision)
Level 3 (Experienced Level; Can perform the above tasks with no supervision and can assist others)
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite Boeing Jacksonville or any of the BGS sites when needed to support associated work.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
1+ years of Aircraft Mechanic (Experience in either commercial or defense or relevant trade apprenticeship would be considered)
1+ years experience in reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics and specifications
Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
FAA certification in Airframe and/or Power Plant is desirable
Knowledge of general aircraft maintenance and environment processes (Human Factors, FOD control, tool control, health & safety & COSHH)
Typical Education & Experience:
High school diploma or GED or 1+ years of experience
