Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer
One of our Defense and Space Manufacturing clients located in Jacksonville, FL, area has an opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer to support the development of a space-to-space power beaming spacecraft and its orbital power grid. This role will be responsible for leading and overseeing the development, integration, and testing of complex space systems.
Role Responsibilities:
Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, and verify a lifecycle-balanced system of systems and system solutions.
Serve as a focal point for technical issues and functions, coordinating between engineering teams.
Evaluate customer and operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters/algorithms, and ensure compatibility of all physical, functional, and program interfaces.
Create, track, and maintain requirements using state-of-the-art tools.
Perform various analyses to optimize the total system of systems and/or system architecture.
Lead the resolution of technical issues with other SMEs and the product team.
Write technical policies, procedures, and documentation.
Support business development efforts for proposals/bids.
Ideal Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in systems engineering preferred.
Experience leading the development of space systems for challenging environments and missions.
Experience in small teams and building systems engineering teams.
Experience with MBSE (Model-Based System Engineering).
Experience with NASA/DoD lifecycle reviews (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR).
Experience with requirement tracking tools.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $85.00/hr.
