Job Title: Diesel Mechanic

Job Description

Join our skilled team as a Diesel Mechanic where you will perform truck and bus repairs and maintenance in line with industry standards. Your responsibilities will include conducting minor and major repairs, performing regular preventative maintenance tasks such as inspections, tire rotations, and oil changes, maintaining parts inventory, and ensuring shop cleanliness. You will work collaboratively with the repair team to diagnose vehicle problems and plan repairs, perform diagnostic tests, and keep accurate records of repairs.

Hard Skills

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Jamaica, New York.

Work Environment

You will work in an indoor mechanic shop that experiences temperature variations, getting cold in the winter and hot in the summer. The work culture is laid-back, supportive, and team-oriented. You will be working alongside lead mechanics, with provided steel-toed boots and a uniform. After becoming permanent, you can join the Union, receive full benefits including Medical, Vision, Dental, and a tool allowance. Additional training opportunities such as ASE and assistance with obtaining a CDL License are also available. Shifts available include M-F, Tue-Sat, or Sun-Thurs, across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.
