Job Summary:

Provides strategic direction and oversight for release of information for the system including Hospital Based and Ambulatory. Monitors, identifies opportunities and influences outcomes for standardization of release of information processes. Engages with internal and external stakeholder relationships to ensure compliance is met with accuracy and timeliness.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as a member of the leadership team providing strategic direction on release of information strategic initiatives and related services to both vendors and employed SSM team members.

  • Monitors effectiveness of organization's HIPAA policies, guidelines, rules, and regulations as well as any external vendor’s compliance with these documents. Proposes modifications to documents, as appropriate.

  • Leads development of performance monitoring processes and procedures, including identifying data sources and establishing performance monitoring cadence.

  • Leads and directs operational performance of Release of Information thru vendor relationship supporting system-wide scope for hospital and ambulatory offices.

  • Acts as subject matter expert on HIPAA and other regulatory guidelines related to release of information in partnership with SSM Health Compliance and Privacy Departments and ensures system process/policies support regulatory compliance.

  • Analyzes and evaluates data to better improve procedures, systems and set standards for improvement.

  • Effectively influences outcomes through a direct or matrix leader relationship.

  • Effectively manages projects and initiatives through expertise in project management.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree

EXPERIENCE

  • Seven years' experience, with five years' in leadership

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.

  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.

  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.

  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.

  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.

  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.

  • Rare climbing.

REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
