Scully Company Maintenance Tech Trainee in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania

Position Overview: * The Maintenance Tech Trainee position is a six month paid training program* with direct supervisors on-site.

*This program is for jobseekers with less than 3 years of residential maintenance experience. Don't have any experience, but love to work with your hands? This could be an opportunity for you! *

This is a full-time position where you will receive a combination of on-the-job, hands-on classroom, and on-demand training. After successful completion of the Maintenance Tech Training Program, you will be qualified for a full-time Maintenance Technician position.

Maintenance Tech Trainee Program tentatively beginning mid-March.

Skills you will acquire:

  1. Fair Housing Laws and Regulations- you will learn the Fair Housing laws and regulations as applied to Multifamily Property and Management Industry
  2. Resident Service and Emergency Procedures- you will gain an understanding of service-orientation and on-site emergence procedures
  3. Legal Compliance- understand laws and applications of legal compliance issues in the workplace
  4. Maintenance Safety- on-site safety knowledge to prevent problems
  5. Maintenance Technician Foundational Skills- you will learn Maintenance Technician basic skills and competencies
  6. Maintenance Technician Level 2 Skills- you will learn the skills necessary to diagnose and repair on-site property issues
  7. System Usage- you will learn how to use company systems routinely used by our maintenance technicians

     

Specific Responsibilities:

  • This position requires attention to detail, strong communication skills and the ability to follow precise instruction
  • Consistently communicating with property management team to facilitate resident satisfaction
  • Promptly answering resident calls, empathetically and with a sense of urgency
  • Providing top-notch customer service by following up with residents after repairs
  • Keeping an eye on the details of the property from the grounds to routine upkeep
  • Staying proactive about maintenance repairs
  • Preparing all aspects of apartments for move-in and turn-over
  • Maintaining inventory and vendor relations

     

Requirements:

  • Less than 3 years of maintenance experience 
  • Desire to learn new skills in a hands-on setting
  • Dependable transportation to get to work and a valid driver's license
  • Able to regularly commute between the three training properties: Hatfield, Horsham and Glenside, PA
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the position

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
