FMH Conveyors is searching for aShipping & Receiving Supervisor to join our team! The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor is responsible for the shipment of product to customers and the receipt of incoming materials and warehousing of raw materials. Accuracy of shipments and inventory, proper receipts of all goods, and meeting all documented service requirements are essential to this position. This position plans, orders, and directs all activities and team members in the Shipping & Receiving departments.
The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor is a member of the Supply Chain & Logistics team and collaborates with the other functional teams (Sales, Operations, Engineering, Finance, HR, etc.) on executing company strategies, meeting budgets, and the work unit planned processes.
POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties as assigned:
Provides daily direction and leadership to the Shipping & Receiving team members
Accountable for staffing, training, motivation, and leadership within area of responsibility
Develops a teamwork environment and builds departmental standards for performance.
Ensures that all team members in the shipping and receiving departments are properly trained
Ensures that materials shipped and received are verified for accuracy
Establishes and maintains procedures for determining and meeting company and customer delivery commitments by handling materials, providing labor, and effective use of time.
Recommends and assists in implementing operating procedures and promotes continual improvement within the departments and the company
Follows shipping methods for materials using the operations procedures; Resolves emergent issues for expedited deliveries to the customer.
Coordinates import/export of goods by scheduling containers to meet shipping demands
Monitors the quality, quantity, cost, and efficiency of inbound and outbound shipments
Maintains working relationships with transportation representatives, vendors, and suppliers to ensure cost control and competitiveness
Monitors and tracks shipping vendor performance and negotiates shipping rates
Schedules and tracks all outbound shipments
Observes and promotes safety and security procedures.
Uses equipment and materials properly
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Associate degree or equivalent work experience
Strong team building and leadership abilities
Strong ERP systems experience or a willingness & capability to learn new computer software programs
Knowledge of production and inventory control functions
Experience with lean concepts and tools
Knowledge of purchasing and manufacturing systems
Strong analytical, administrative, and organizational skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Stand, walk, or be mobile for up to an eight-hour shift; ascend and push, and pull up to 50 lbs.; bend, twist and reach to check freight, stack boxes, and label.
