As a Behavioral Health Technician, you'll provide direct and supportive care to clients/patients, monitoring their well-being, facilitating group activities, and creating a safe, therapeutic environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Admit, supervise, monitor, transfer, and discharge clients/patients.

  • Ensure monitoring of vital signs, signs and symptoms, and escalate for medical intervention when needed.

  • Oversee medication administration per policy and procedures.

  • Maintain accurate records of client medications and document administration.

  • Encourage clients/patients to adhere to program expectations and rules.

  • Participate as an active member of the treatment team.

  • Document and report client behavior and areas of concern.

  • Facilitate urine collection, testing, and documentation.

  • Operate telephone system, record messages, and respond to crisis calls.

  • Assist, educate, and redirect clients/patients in daily activities.

  • Monitor client activities and document relevant progress or behavior.

  • Foster adaptive behavior and positive social interaction among clients.

  • Ensure precaution protocols are followed and appropriately documented.

  • Facilitate group rehabilitative support, education, recovery skills, or recreation groups.

  • Provide client/patient transportation as needed.

  • Maintain a standard of behavior consistent with the organization's code of conduct.

  • Complete all mandatory trainings within required time frames.

  • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and other meetings as requested.

  • Maintain a safe and clean environment, reporting maintenance concerns.

  • Adhere to all program policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrate interest in the organization's long-term and short-term goals and objectives.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

  • High School education OR equivalent and two (2) years of responsible employment

  • Experience in Human Services or related field preferred

Additional Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of confidentiality laws governing substance use and mental health disorder treatment

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow documents, instructions, and manuals

  • Basic math skills and ability to write routine reports and correspondence

  • Effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to establish rapport with clients while maintaining appropriate boundaries

  • Basic computer skills and ability to navigate and enter notes in an electronic medical record
