Pacific Air Forces Supply Clerk in Kadena Air Base Okinawa, Japan

Summary About the position: This position is located at the Officer's Club on Kadena AB, Okinawa Japan. Responsibilities Oversees stock maintenance of the O'Club Complex within its required levels and reorder points using standard procedures for local Japanese vendors and local DoD organizations. Stocks consist of fresh, frozen and canned perishable food items; beverage products to include beer, wine, alcohol; paper products, administrative and office supplies. Conducts physical inventories, adjust and maintain inventory and account for records. Receives and screens lists and other documents specifying and validating supplies, materials, food items received. Process receiving reports manually and electronically Internet Based Purchasing System - (IBPS), and forwarding documents to Club purchasing agent for billing. Notes overages, shortages, or any damages incurred in shipping. Prepare documentation for discrepancy reports as necessary. Search catalogs, records, other data sources or make inquiries with local vendors to obtain correct stock numbers to find authorized substitutes for stock items that may be required by the main club kitchen and club restaurants. Makes inquiries with local vendors and develops a best-price list for own use and for the use of complex restaurants. Contacts local vendors, central commissary, AAFES, Troops/FSI or the FSS central warehouse to obtain status information, follows up on urgently required items, and/or expedite deliveries for O'Club and complex restaurants. Forecasts required stock level based on current stock, and expected stock usage. Initiates reorders when stocks are low or below a required level. Receives orders for office and administrative supplies form management and acquires items from base supply store. Qualifying Experience: Experience which provided knowledge of standardized supply regulation, policies, procedures, or other instructions relating to the specific functions assigned. Must have familiarity with Food Trak or an automated supply data bases to enter, correct, and retrieve recurring reports and to structure and retrieve specialized reports. Knowledge of purchasing and dealing with international suppliers is desired. Knowledge of the structure of a supply organization and local Japanese vendors is desired. Ability to communicate with Japanese vendors is desired. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. All Federal NAF employees are required by PL 104-134 to have salary payments made by electronic funds transfer/direct deposit. Probationary period may be required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from hiring preferences and priority consideration eligible.
