Works closely with management in the implementation of corporate policies related to human resources, organizational, and employee development at the business unit or division level. Consults with employees and managers to address root causes of human resources issues, attempting to resolve employee relations issues with a systematic approach.

Participates in company-wide programs and initiatives (e.g., salary review, stock renewal, workforce planning, and organizational change). Assists senior management in the development of solutions through organizational development and cultural and process-oriented perspectives. May play a role in administering talent management and succession planning activity within the client organization.

Working at NTT

HR Business Partners serve as a consultative business partner to senior managers/business leaders within assigned business groups. The primary responsibility of this position is to participate in the implementation of strategies relating to human resources and general HR support of employees in their area of responsibility and/or stakeholder group. These individuals have specialist knowledge and answer queries related to their area of responsibility and/or stakeholder group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively supports the design and implementation of strategies relating to human resources and develop, implement and administer Total Rewards (include payroll) policies and programs. Has a comprehensive technical HR specialist knowledge. Provides advice and answers escalated queries related to their area of responsibility and/or stakeholder group. Fosters good relationships by acting as an extension of the relevant stakeholder group. Responsible for keeping the relevant management team updated on the HR programmes being implemented.

  • Develops and/or participates in Total Rewards surveys to analyze company’s competitive position. Reviews proposed salary adjustments for conformance to established guidelines and recommends corrective or alternative actions to resolve compensation-related problems. Recommends company salary structure movements and salary increase budgets. Prepares special studies and makes recommendations on subjects such as incentive compensation, bonus plans and sales compensation

  • Ensures the alignment between the organisation’s operations and the HR practices and objectives. Act as the change and agile champion for employees and management within an assigned partner group.

Knowledge, skills and attributes

Extensive knowledge and understanding of employment law and HR best practices.

Ability to work on own initiative, prioritize work to deadlines.

A good understanding of the vast range of IT operations and NTT service offerings

Knowledge and understanding of IT industry environment and business needs.

Excellent project management skills

Strong relationship management and demonstrated collaborative skills in working with internal and external business leaders and stakeholders.

Strong communication skills (verbal and written) coupled with good questioning skills

Assertive in approach coupled with confidence in area of expertise and the ability to facilitate business conversations

Maintains a clear and detailed knowledge of the industry trends, best practices, and labour legislation

Academic qualifications and certifications:

Degree in Human Resources or Industrial Psychology

Experience required:

Extensive experience in similar human resources positions

Strong track record developing and implementing policy, experienced in implementing HR strategy

Robust experience working in partnership with a range of stakeholders including managers, trade unions, employees and external partners

Experience managing conflict and sensitive issues and achieving positive outcomes

Experience developing and managing change projects and programmes

Experience delivering strategic priorities within strict timelines

Experience implementing workforce plans that reflect organisational/departmental need

Proficient in HR technologies including experience in HRIS, LMS, e-Recruitment and Payroll systems.

Extensive experience with HR metrics
