Aston Carter Controller in Kansas City, Missouri

Aston Carter has partnered with a growing manufacturing company seeking to hire a Controller!

Job Description:

  • Providing analysis, management reporting, planning, and accounting support.

  • The ability to work independently.

  • Prepare balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports.

  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Budgeting and forecasting.

  • Periodic results commentary (weekly and monthly.)

  • Creating and preparing financial analysis.

  • Product cost analysis.

  • Track and communicate capital expenditures.

  • Excess and obsolete inventory review.

  • Ad hoc reporting.

  • Cash management.

  • Tax management with support of outside CPA.

  • Risk management (insurance, OSHA compliance, asset protection.)

  • Human resources management (ADP payroll.)

  • Oversee physical inventory accuracy.

  • Multi-state sales tax management (18 states currently.)

  • Establish and maintain KPIs.

  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls.

    Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience within accounting

  • Manufacturing and management experience highly preferred

  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required

  • Must have strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, time management, critical thinking skills, and analytical skills.

  • Must be familiar with common accounting concepts, practices, and procedures with a strong emphasis on cost accounting.
