Category Manager/Buyer - Full-time (Buyer/Purchasing)

Salary Range:$20.00 To 30.00 Annually
The Category Manager/Buyer position will be located onsite in Nebraska (Kearney or Grand Island) and report to the Director of Procurement.
As a Category Manager/Buyer you will:
- Actively manage all assigned inventory (as selected by the Director of Procurement) from first inquiry to final sale of the product.
- Develops sales, gross profit and stock turn goals annually.
- Is focused on providing exceptional customer service to Builders sales teams and providing a strong and responsive link to Builders Accounting teams.
- Ensure all files and databases are maintained and updated.
- Build a working understanding of, and provide financial analysis for, the products assigned to the department.
- Determine and maintain inventory levels.
- Analyzes market trends and offerings to assist in development and execution of merchandise stock assortments, business strategies and goals for assigned product departments.
- Help develop and maintain variable pricing models by department and store levels.
- Create and execute automated methods of replenishment.
- Works closely with team members to address and maximize business opportunities, providing market information and gathering data.
- Prepares monthly information bulletins and team members training seminars as appropriate.

- Negotiates with vendors to obtain most favorable prices, programs, VPP and allowances to achieve sales and profit objectives.
- Maintain liaison with suppliers, collect data and other information required for proper execution of buys.

- Prepare financial analysis reports on suppliers utilizing internal tools.
- Participate on special projects (as assigned or self-perpetuated). Set objectives, determine action plans and set target completion dates.
