Number of Positions: 1 Position
Department: Environmental Health and Safety
Reporting to: SHEQ Manager, Wabtec, South Africa
Reporting Relationship : None
Primary Purpose of Role: To support WSA & FIP Brakes sites and legal requirements related to Safety, Health, and Environment.
Primary Objectives:
Do regular audits and reporting on findings, keep record of all SHE activities
Collaborate with production personnel to identify, define, and solve SHE problems
Conduct daily inspections and attend to day-to-day SHE issues
Compile weekly and monthly SHE reports
Conduct Monthly site reviews
Maintain certifications of SHE reps, fire fighters, first aiders, forklift drivers, etc.
Control SHE consumables
Formal Education/Training
SHE qualification is mandatory (ISO 18001, 45001, SAMTRAC, etc.)
Essential work skills
5 – 10 years SHE experience
Ability to solve practical problems
Adherence to company policies and procedures including legal requirements
Knowledge of Health and Safety Legislations
Computer literacy (MS Office)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Sound verbal and written communication skills
SHE Audit experience
Person Specification
High standard of numeracy, accuracy with attention to detail
A team player with flexible approach and a willingness to learn
A self-starter who is proactive and can set and achieve goals
Strong organizational skills
Hard working with a proven track record of skilled, hands-on trade related experience required.
