ASRC Federal System Solutions seeks an Aerospace Industrial Engineer to join our team at Kennedy Space Center, FL as we work with NASA to send humans back to the moon! Orion will serve as the exploration vehicle that will carry the crew to space, provide emergency abort capability, sustain the crew during the space travel, and provide safe re-entry from deep space return velocities. Orion will launch on NASA’s new heavy-lift rocket, the Space Launch System. ASRC Federal System Solutions brings a 14-year history of delivering high-performance space systems engineering, integration and satellite operations services to civil and defense agencies. We provide these services throughout all phases of the program life-cycle and across the entire space systems architecture, including space and ground assets.
Specific Job Duties:
Lead and support process improvement projects, will require gathering information from all applicable stakeholders and complete ROIs (Return On Investment)
Support the development of production and program metrics and maintain metric databases
Lead and support Operation Excellence Team projects
Assist in the development of training packages
Support auxiliary projects such as facility layout, tooling, affordability and producibility
Requirements:
Required Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to develop and maintain effective cross- functional relationships and an ability to work and facilitate in a team environment.
Solid engineering skills/foundation including problem/anomaly identification, analysis, and resolution
Willing to support extended work hours when required
Desired Skills:
Experience with Lean/6 sigma processes
Experience facilitating process improvement events
Ability to read, analyze and interpret various technical procedures and reports. Ability to write reports and keep accurate documentation
Advanced Skills in the Microsoft Office software suite
Good verbal and written communication including technical writing
Experience with CAD/CAM software such as CreoParametric, CreoView, Solidworks.
Demonstrated experience using SAP (VE CAMS) or similar supporting software for generating manufacturing work instructions, routings, product structure, and manufacturing bill of materials(EBOM/MBOM).
Demonstrated Self-starter attributes
Knowledge aerospace processes
Experience in production, manufacturing and/or assembly environments
