Ride North Powersports - Kingsford Powersports Technician in Kingsford, Michigan

Ride North is seeking an experienced small engine mechanic at our Kingsford location. The ideal applicant should be a self starter with 3-5 years minimum experience in diesel, small engine, and hydraulics on construction equipment. However, we are willing to train the right candidate with promising base knowledge. Having your own tools to perform duties is highly preferred.

What you will do:

  • Perform with minimum supervision equipment repairs in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all safety procedures are followed and that fellow employees do the same.
  • Troubleshoot problems on all equipment using test equipment, tools, service manuals and service bulletins.
  • Utilize all departmental reference materials, service and parts manuals as needed to complete the job.
  • Continually study and upgrade proficiency in construction equipment troubleshooting and repair.
  • Keep your paperwork up-to-date at all times, personal and company (CDL - Physical Card - Log Books - Timesheets).
  • Learn to operate construction equipment for diagnostics and repair.
  • Own enough hand tools to facilitate completion of job tasks. Stay up to date on new trends and techniques pertaining to powersports and marine functions, operability, and repair.
  • Keep current on all factory training including certifications, web-based or other training, technical service bulletins, other update literature, and new model training.
  • Ensure that adequate internal controls are functioning appropriately within assigned areas.
  • Adhere to corporate policies/procedures, documentation standards, and applicable regulatory requirements (i.e., federal, state, local).
  • Exercise an appropriate level of courtesy, tact, and professional communications in dealing with others.
  • Contribute to a favorable public image of the Ride North Group.
  • Contribute toward effective team problem solving with other employees and management to foster a collaborative workplace, and to promote positive customer experiences.

What Qualifications you must have:

  • Construction equipment mechanical experience preferred
  • Demonstrate high degree of proficiency in construction equipment repair.
  • Ability to read and use reference materials, both on paper and on computer.
  • Ability to lift 100 lbs.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Must be willing to work 9a-6p Tues-Fri and 9a-4p Sat, year-round.
