Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities:
Support advanced manufacturing projects from concept through operational deployment
Conceive innovative improvements, designs, and advanced technologies for existing manufacturing processes
Define and perform research projects to mature concepts, technologies and processes based on facts and data
Define future factory vision, concepts and options with cost and benefit evaluation
Understands full life cycle requirements for product and process development
Perform trade studies for design and manufacturing alternatives
Defines engineering requirements and compliance approaches up front for design for manufacturing and/or automation
Work in concert with key functions to align and advance research plans. Build positive relationships with internal support disciplines, customers and suppliers
Progress concept through initial configuration, prototyping, risk reduction and mature technology readiness
Create plans and evaluations for future work packages, i.e. managing projects from start to finish
Define necessary resources and development plans
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited program with 2-4 years of relevant experience
Ability to manage with influence
Must be a self starter and able to perform duties with minimum supervision
Experience building interpersonal professional relationships
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to manage multiple projects and establish priorities
Basic understanding of data analysis (process capability, gage r & r, etc.)
Experience with fabrication, machining and inspection of composite materials for aerospace applications
Strong mechanical aptitude and desire to learn new things
Experience with 3D computer aided modeling and 3D printing
Familiarity with automated equipment including robotics
Basic programming knowledge for data handling (e.g. VBA, Python, etc.)
Experience utilizing various Microsoft Office Suite applications, such as Office 365 and Microsoft Project, Power Point, Excel, Word, Teams and Visio
