Army National Guard Units OPTICAL INSTRUMENT REPAIRER (TITLE 32) in Kinston, North Carolina

Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a OPTICAL INSTRUMENT REPAIRER (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1211000 and is part of the NC G4, National Guard (G4-FMS #18 / Manning Doc 5228-043). Responsibilities As an OPTICAL INSTRUMENT REPAIRER, WG-3306-10, you will repair, modify, overhaul, inspect, troubleshoot, test, adjust, and clean the optics and supporting mechanical and electrical elements of complex panoramic telescopes; visually inspect optical instrument equipment and operate mechanisms to determine serviceability, damaged or worn parts, and malfunctions; abide by safety precautions when working with compressors, hoses, and tank testing equipment; serve as a commodity inspector during technical inspections, Command Maintenance Evaluation Team (COMET) or Maintenance Assistance and (MAIT) Instruction Team. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: Enlisted (E4 to E7) Minimum Requirements: Experience or training that has provided the candidate with the ability to apply knowledge of optical theory and construction principles in order to test, repair, align, and collimate a variety of complex optical equipment. Experience which demonstrates the ability to understand and apply instructions, and specifications; and interpret blue prints and diagrams of optical paths and mechanical linkages. Experience using hand and power tools common to an optical shop. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE (18 months): Experience or training repairing, rebuilding, overhauling systems and components of optical instrument equipment. Experience in diagnosing malfunction in determining remedy where complex relationships exist among optical systems and supporting mechanical and electrical systems. Experience in the use of a variety of measuring and testing equipment. Experience interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, schematics and work orders.
