At L&P Aerospace, we specialize in creating complex tube and duct assemblies using high-performance materials capable of withstanding extreme pressure, temperature, and chemical interaction.

Leggett & Platt, Incorporated (NYSE: LEG) is seeking a Quality Manager for its Kirkland, Washington branch, specializing in Aerospace tubing. This position will report to the General Manager and assist with coordination of other management and area leads to effectively organize and monitor quality objectives, workflow, efficiencies, develop and select Continuous Improvement projects, and achieve safety initiatives. This position will also work internally and with suppliers to monitor performance and ensure effective corrective actions are put in place, when necessary. The successful candidate will be a strategic big-picture leader who empowers others to take ownership and pride in branch operations.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Oversee and perform, if necessary, quality, testing, safety, and maintenance

  • Collect and analyze data and create documentation for cost of quality, SPC, VSM, control plans, risk analysis, internal and customer quality and delivery metrics, AS9100 PEARS, OEE, MSA

  • Focal for customer and third-party audits.

  • Monitor supplier performance, issue corrective action requests, and perform supplier audits, when necessary

  • Conduct internal and customer root cause corrective action activities and oversee corrective action responses.

  • Participates in Continuous Improvement activities and improves manufacturing efficiencies.

  • Establishes statistical confidence and reliability based on analysis of processes.

  • Work with production team to develop, plan and execute continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Provide quality training for employees and departments, as needed.

  • Encourage safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel.

  • Maintain working relationship with the union by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.

  • Ensure compliance with company policy and procedures.

    Requirements

  • At least 5 years’ experience in aerospace quality required

  • Experience creating and performing audits, quality data analysis, key characteristics, SPC, control charts, Control Plans, Gage R&R, PPAP, Risk Analysis, Airbus GRAMS, TS16949, sampling plans, value stream maps.

  • High mechanical aptitude; familiarity with precision measurement tools (ie. Micrometer, calipers etc.)

  • Proven skills with ISO/AS9100 quality standards as well as Lean/Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement disciplines

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software programs, particularly Excel. Ability to be trained in usage of manufacturing applications.

  • Ability to manage a diverse group in a busy environment that is fast paced and rapidly changing; multi-tasking abilities are a must

  • Experience in data analysis or some coding or programming experience preferred (SQL, VBA)

  • Two year degree in a technical field, CQE and/or CQA preferred

    Salary Range $90,000 - $120,000
