The Quality Team at Project Kuiper is looking for an innovative Test Quality Engineer to join our team and deliver quality assurance objectives within our Vehicle Assembly & Test team.
This role will help in ensuring that satellites undergo rigorous testing to identify and mitigate defects at the component level, reducing the risk of failures in space by collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve quality issues, ensuring that satellites meet stringent performance and reliability requirements.
Key job responsibilities
• Review test plans and procedures in detail to ensure the quality and reliability of satellite systems.
• Qualify specialized test equipment and fixtures to support testing requirements.
• Conduct testing and validation of satellite systems, including electrical, mechanical, and environmental testing.
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
• Develop and maintain quality documents, including test procedures, test reports, and quality manuals.
• Collaborate with hardware/software engineering, manufacturing, and counterparts in quality teams to ensure that quality standards are met.
• Stay current with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in testing and quality assurance.
A day in the life
The primary focus of the role is to support testing activities on the test floor. When issues arise, helps resolves quality issues related to testing by collaborating with vehicle level or component level cross-functional teams. While addressing the ongoing test issues, this role will also focus on proactively analyzing test data to identify areas for improvement. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality satellite products.
Basic Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field is required.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in testing and quality assurance, preferably in the aerospace or satellite industry.
Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, quality standards, and industry regulations, such as ISO 9001, AS9100, and ECSS.
Experience with test equipment and software, such as LabVIEW, TestStand, MATLAB, and the like.
Preferred Qualifications
A master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field is preferred.
Certifications in quality assurance or testing, such as CQE, CQA, or CTTL, are preferred.
Experience with satellite systems and testing is preferred.
Knowledge of programming languages, such as Python or C++, is preferred.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and identify defects.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
