Shire Account Lead, South and East Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Responsible for achieving sales volume targets and product mix through high performance sales execution. This involves effective accounts and territory management such as new account development and/or expanding existing accounts within an established own geographical territory area, limited industry or product line. This role will need to build and maintain relationships with the key decision makers in the assigned account and be involved in the development of a complete P5 marketing program, in collaboration with Medical Affairs and Public Affairs for flawless implementation and execution. This role will continuously review and analyze product line sales trends to ensure continued overall profitable growth, market share progression and market position.


  • Ensure the country sales plan is met and marketing support to customers (HCPs and distributors) is in place.

  • Prioritize selling activities via account/territory management, which includes understanding of key decision makers, buying influences and processes; prioritizing resource utilization through effective call-account planning; and good time management.

  • Provide feedback to immediate supervisor for the development of marketing policy, recommended product and product line revisions as well as pricing changes or recommend financially sound proposals /tenders & reach a win-win agreement.

  • Create promotional materials for the market consistent with the Global brand and message guidelines and local regulatory guidelines.

  • Establish and build a strong relationship with key opinion leaders and key healthcare professionals in target segments to establish therapy selection guidelines and build Takeda brand awareness.

  • Keep up-to-date and apply industry knowledge/trends, competitor activity to understand and meet maintain competitive positioning.

  • Develop, organize and participate in marketing activities, including organizing training and education, conferences, seminars for healthcare professionals for the purpose of establishing and growing the business in line with the regional strategy.

  • Provide customers (HCP) with training, technical assistance relating to product functions or capabilities, address product and medical concerns in collaboration with Medical Affairs. Build credibility and trust with customer.

  • Develop detailed 12-month forecasts on a monthly basis for each product in the product line. Review product demand monthly and revise forecast accordingly.

  • Assist in development of short- and long-term plans and marketing strategies (P5) and implementation of P5 plan to ensure achievement of its operating plan goals. Gain market information to assess product and market trends (existing and new products).

  • Assist in providing marketing inputs for the Strategic and Operating Plan. Prepare sales forecasts for these plans.

  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget for the market segment up to and including controllable expenses, as well as marketing communication expenses.

  • Ensure monthly reports are submitted on timely basis i.e. SFE.
