In anticipation of an Engineering Task Order from USAID/Ukraine, Amentum is seeking a qualified Engineering or Architect candidate to serve as a Design Specialist. The Design Specialist is an engineer responsible for overseeing the design management process and assuring quality and CADD standards.
Essential Responsibilities:
Develops the program design standards, design quality management processes and CADD standards in collaboration with HO design teams.
Support the team with developing a design management manual and train design teams on required standards.
Oversee design documentation management and coordinates design quality reviews and approvals between local engineering firms and international Amentum or partner engineering staff.
Manage and control digital data files and drawings.
Support with developing technical requirements and developing staffing / time requirements for technical and design-related Job Orders.
Support the DCOP with identifying and engaging the appropriate international and local design team for specific technical or design task order requirements.
Collaborate with the DCOP to manage the initial design charettes and orient that design teams to program requirements.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Excellent Written and Spoken English.
A BS Engineering or Architecture. Ukraine Engineering Registration is Required.
Proven experience with Ukraine’s design standards.
10 years' experience with design management and managing interdisciplinary engineering and architecture teams.
Experience managing Interdisciplinary design reviews and managing design quality reviews. Experience working on USDOE or USACE design programs and following their design review process and documentation is a plus.
Excellent understanding of CADD and developing / managing CADD standards. Experience using BIM modeling is a plus.
Experience identifying and developing design teams and estimating design time requirements.
Prior leadership experience is highly desired.
