POSITION: ER Physician - Emergency Dept.
DUTIES:
Diagnoses and treats a variety of diseases and injuries in the Emergency
Department by performing the following duties.
Elicits and records information about patient s medical history.
Examines patient to determine general physical condition
Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to
provide information on patient s condition and arrive at working diagnosis.
Perform any require life-saving interventions as attested to in the
Delineation of Privileges
Administers or prescribes treatments and medications.
Determine appropriate disposition for patients.
Consult in-house or specialty physicians as needed for the patient s
condition.
If patient is transferred, comply with all EMTALA requirements
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
This position may require working all shifts including
weekends/holidays. The current shift length is 12 hours.
REQUIREMENTS:
Active, unrestricted, unconditional Colorado MD/DO license in good standing.
ATLS, ACLS/PALS certification (waived if ABEM certified)

Analytic/Problem Solving:
Most of the decision-making is heuristic or pattern recognition. The physician
must be able to access the knowledge gained in the past through training,
education (lectures, publications, etc.), and clinical experience
and then rapidly determine whether the current situation fits the pattern. In
doing so, they must rapidly assess for inconsistencies, ensure against
cognitive bias, and, at the same time, avoid an error.
Interpersonal Skills:
Must be able to effectively communicate, resolve conflicts and cooperated
with other AVRMC staff (Physicians, RNs, lab, Resp., etc.) and
prehospital personnel.
Documentation:
Enter patient data, H&P, Physical Exam, MDM, Diagnosis, Treatment
plan, Prescriptions, Disposition, MSE into the EMR in a timely and
accurate fashion. Currently the hospital utilizes Meditech and dictation
software to assist in that task.

WAGE: $220 per/hour
