Supply Chain Planning Engineer

The Supply Chain Planning Engineer will be part of the Supply Chain Planning team supporting the Supply Chain Planning Strategy around sourcing/resourcing impacting Lafayette Engine Center and leading Supply Chain projects to develop Supply Chain solutions to support critical business initiatives.

Job Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:

  • Performing Supply Chain Planning Analysis utilizing Plan For Every Part Workbook and other tools to ensure Supply Chain parameters aligned with facility targets.

  • Represent Supply Chain in sourcing council and New Source Introduction gateway meetings.

  • Ensuring Supply Chain planning work has been completed prior to implementation of resource.

  • Lead internal Supply Chain teams to develop & implement Supply Chain solutions to meet project requirements.

  • Develop project reports and provide regular communication to Management/Stakeholders on project status.

  • Incumbent is required to work effectively with diverse, multi-functional teams in order to apply the Supply Chain Planning process.

  • Incumbent will be the liaison between Purchasing and Supply Chain for all supplier resourcing activities: including resource transition, sample orders and resource inventory buffer.

  • Investigating and incorporating industry benchmarks, metrics and best practices to develop optimal supply chains for suppliers and/or product sets.

  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

  • Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree related to Supply Chain, or equivalent experience AND 5 years of progressively responsible supply chain job experience

  • Advanced knowledge and ability to effectively use Microsoft Office tools such as Excel & Power Point

  • Effective communicator, excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate across all management levels.

  • Strong understanding and previous experience using common supply chain systems (e.g. MAMM MRP, Lognet, MRC, EDI, MESL, FRACS and Pull Manager), and the ability to coordinate facility efforts.

  • Must possess excellent leadership skills to effectively lead supply chain improvements making the best use of available resources, while maintaining strong people focus.

  • Must possess extremely strong collaborative, interpersonal and negotiation skills in order to drive common supply chain processes across multiple departments within a business division.

  • Must have advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to creatively solve very complex problems.

  • Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures and solid product knowledge

Top Candidates will also have:

  • Masters degree related to supply chain.

  • 7 years of progressively responsible supply chain job experience

  • Prior experience as a buyer and/or leading critical projects to support business initiatives.

  • Experience and knowledge about CPS supply chain principles, Supply Chain Planning analytical tools, and inventory management.

  • 6-Sigma training and experience.

  • Previous experience as a Supply Chain Planning Analyst or Engineer is a plus.

  • Ability to thrive in an uncertain environment and work independently with a sense of urgency.
