Brown and Caldwell's (BC) Design Services-Pumping System Group is
currently seeking a Senior Process Mechanical Engineer with proven strength in
process mechanical engineering design of water, wastewater, and stormwater
pumping system projects. You will support projects both locally and
nationally, but with a focus on BC's western business region.
The ideal candidate will be located near one of our offices in Denver, CO;
Phoenix, AZ; Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; or Walnut Creek, CA but
remote assignment in the Western U.S. is allowed.
In this role you will utilize your technical expertise to manage and execute
work on projects and to help ensure successful client project delivery. In
addition, it is anticipated that you will also participate in the mentoring
and career development of our junior engineering staff within the Process
Mechanical Discipline with a specific focus on pumping system evaluation and
design. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with highly
experienced technical experts and other leaders from the BC pumping systems
team.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Manage and execute pumping system work for wastewater, water, stormwater
utilities, and industrial facilities.
Support project teams in planning and/or designing major and complex pumping
systems within our project delivery framework.
Actively manage assigned projects and key clients.
Assume responsibility for managing process mechanical budgets for assigned
projects.
Play an active role in the maintenance of existing clients and the development
of new client relationships.
Utilize experience and expertise to guide clients through available solutions
to complex pumping system problems.
Develop and update design guides, standards, and specifications associated
with pumping system evaluation and/or design.
Prepare and make presentations to clients for pursuits, proposals, and
project technical meetings.
Perform quality control reviews ensuring the work products meet BC standards
and effectively manages project risks.
Mentor teams of project engineers in delivering pumping system projects and
professional growth.
Direct the work of drafters and designers, coordinate with other disciplines.
Supervise, delegate and oversee the work of technical staff and engineers.
Support construction related office engineering activities.
Coach and mentor junior engineers and designers.
Minimum Qualifications:
B.S. degree in Mechanical, Environmental or Civil Engineering.
Experience should include: water, wastewater, and stormwater pumping
system evaluation, assessment, and design.
Experience designing water, wastewater, or stormwater pumping system
projects and preparing construction documents including drawings, P&IDs,
specifications, control narratives, technical memoranda, etc. is required.
Professional Engineer (PE) License, Civil, Mechanical, or
Environmental required.
Strong technical writing skills required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills is essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
M.S. in Mechanical, Environmental or Civil Engineering preferred.
10+ years of experience in complex pumping system design projects preferred.
Experience with Hydraulic Institute standards is preferred.
Experience with AFT Fathom and AFT Impulse is preferred.
Strong project or task management skills desired.
Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based
on the employee's primary work location and may be more or less depending
upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in
the future.
Location A:
Salary: $141,000.00 - $193,000.00
Location B:
Salary: $155,000.00 - $212,000.00
Location C:
Salary: $169,000.00 - $231,000.00
