Associate Engineer
Position Overview
This position involves working closely with senior engineers, project managers, and our clients to insure successful deployment, maintenance, and documentation of our client's environment. The engineer will be extremely proficient with all tools our business uses to deliver the service.
What you'll do at Insight
Work closely with internal and external technology support teams to ensure proper instrumentation of customer's systems, applications, services, and business processes
Coordinate between internal teams and customer teams to ensure effective delivery of services with the aid of various tools
Manages and maintains the VMware environment by:
Completing application availability and performance monitoring
Troubleshooting issues and implementing resolution within VMware.
Configuration, release and change management
Document procedures and develop knowledgebase articles.
All other duties as assigned
What you'll need to join Insight
Minimum of 2+ years of IT experience with experience managing virtual Windows systems
Familiar with VMware virtual management, including:
-Building VM templates
-Designing and building VM pools
-Managing parent images (security updates, compliance, etc.)
-Recomposing VM pools
-Managing Linked and Instant Clone pools
-Facilitating VMware upgrades (VMware Tools/Agent)
SCCM package deployment and imaging experience a plus.
Ability to write clear and concise technical documents and presentations for sophisticated internal technical audiences
Ability to work in group setting and independently; ability to adjust to changing priorities
Excellent attention and orientation toward meticulous work
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to project and maintain a professional and positive attitude
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
This position requires 2-3 days on-site in Cleveland OH
