Job Description
Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods, including Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Special/Catered Events. Prepare and cook to order foods that may require short preparation time.
Responsibilities
Prepare food and serve customers at an a la carte station and operate a grill station.
Prepare food in accordance with current federal, state, and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations to ensure high-quality food service.
Read food orders or receive verbal instructions on food required by patrons, and prepare and cook food according to instructions.
Provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times.
Follow basic recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs.
Work with customers and patients' families in the cafe.
Take orders and prepare food (similar to a short order cook).
Interact with customers.
Work with patient foods in the kitchen.
Manage supplies and materials.
Comply with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
Participate in regular safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments.
Apply all applicable OSHA and related local safety requirements to all assigned work.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to work with customers and patients' families in a cafe setting.
Ability to take orders and prepare food similar to a short order cook.
Ability to interact with customers.
Experience working with patient foods in a kitchen.
Knowledge of managing supplies and materials.
Compliance with company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
Participation in safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments.
Application of OSHA and related local safety requirements.

Work Environment
Must have full availability between 5:30am - 8pm. Generally, work is in an indoor setting; however, participation in outside activities and events may be required. The schedule may include evenings, holidays, weekends, and extended hours as business dictates. Employees will work every other weekend and every other holiday.

This is a Contract position based out of Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
