For Water Street Mission (WSM) to fulfill its mission and purpose, it is critical for all staff to participate in the development and maintenance of a healthy Christian Community. By living out our faith with one another and creating a space where our guests are invited to experience that community with us, we participate in lives being restored. Even as some positions have minimal direct contact with guests, each staff member has an essential role in forming and maintaining Christian community. Job Summary: Develop and manage the new Elementary-aged program as part of WSM's Youth Ministries.

Encourage restoration in the lives of guests, recognizing we are each restored by God to become restorers.
Work in full coordination with other WSM staff at all times to identify, report and respond appropriately to any potential threats to the safety and wellbeing of guests.
Role Specific Responsibilities
Partner with Teen Haven Director to develop and run a year-round program for elementary-aged children in the City of Lancaster with a focus on building foundations for faith, trust, personal wholeness and lifelong learning
Create a safe, fun and loving environment
Plan and teach lessons and activities which help students build these foundations
Develop a trusting partnership with parents to further the wellbeing of students and families
Could include some activities which are gender- and/or age-specific, and some mixed
Share the Gospel of Jesus Christ in an age-appropriate manner, in both words and by example
Recruit, train and supervise volunteers, as requested by the Teen Haven director
Assist in representing Teen Haven among donors and community partners
Work in full coordination with Teen Haven/WSM staff team at all times to identify, report and respond appropriately to any potential threats to the safety and wellbeing of youth
Participate in the development and management of the Teen Haven programs as a whole, sharing skill and expertise across the staff team to benefit all youth programs
Work as a Youth department team to develop strong coordination and relational bridges for students and families between Wonder Academy, Elementary and Middle School programs
Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience: High School Diploma/GED. A minimum of two years' experience in human services, ministry, preferably an urban youth ministry including grades 1-5. Valid driver's license. Ability to operate a 15-passenger van.
