This Position is for a C&D TECHNICIAN I with a company located in Laurel.

 

Job Summuary: The C&D Technician is responsible for performing various general labor activities that include the operation of large machinery that provide assistance to the jobsite.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: Operates a vehicle or other special equipment such as forklift, backhoe, amphibious vehicle, or vactor as part of the general labor duties. Performs maintenance on the property and in field as required via the use of a maintenance request for or verbal request. Keeps a log of all maintenance acuities, date of work completed, and as much detail as possible as to what work was performed. Make scheduled inspections of the grounds. Performs lawn and gardening maintenance and repair. Performs various tasks (i.e., shoveling, transfers manhole covers, handle ect.) to assist Crew Leader.

Assist with identifying safety improvements related to the facilities, equipment, or procedures. Understands and adheres to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions. Performs other duties as required.

 

Education and Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. 1-5 years work experience in related field. Good working knowledge of basic hand and power tools. Performs regular checks of equipment conditions, noting deficiencies and following maintenance procedures. Notifies supervisor of needed maintenance. Ability to read technical material, blueprints (understands symbols)/.Knowledge of codes, safety devices and procedures. Physical requirements include frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, and squatting, crawling, sitting, occasional lifting of up to 50lbs.  Must be able to work in all weather conditions. Must be able to work in confined spaces. Communicate effectively via written and oral methods with co-workers, supervisor, managers, and others when necessary. Must have valid Mississippi driver's license (CDL preferred).
