Principal Process Engineering Specialist

KBR’s global business comprises two main segments – Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) and Government Solutions (GS). This role sits within STS in the Integrated Solutions business unit. Integrated Solutions is the engineering and project delivery group providing services which include front-end and detailed engineering, procurement, construction services, and program management primarily in the hydrocarbons and energy transition industries.

Principal Process Engineering Specialist

With an increase in projects we are looking to increase the size of our team at KBR. An opportunity is available working with KBR for process engineers with specialist knowledge working within carbon capture, storage and export. The candidate should have experience working directly with carbon capture and an expert level of understanding of the process technologies involved and fluid behaviour. We are looking for process engineers who preferably have a background working on traditional oil and gas projects and understand the delivery of projects. The position will require supporting /training process engineers on projects as well as providing input to proposals, supporting business development and providing specialist input to project meetings with clients.

Job Responsibilities

Working within a team or supporting a number of teams of process engineers you will advise and contribute to the following:

  • Providing technical expertise to projects.

  • Provide technical input to proposals

  • Ensure latest technology or practices are implemented on project

  • Leading the development of concepts from client specifications

  • Supporting and producing technical and techno-economic studies

  • Review or support the production of :

  • process simulations to produce heat and material balances,

  • process and utility flow diagrams,

  • process studies, conceptual, feasibility or plant optimization

  • Liaison with licensors, other discipline engineers, project management and client

    Skills / Experience

    Essential

  • Extensive experience is required in CCS technology

  • Experience communicating across a multi-discipline team and across different offices.

  • Understanding of requirements of other disciplines as part of project execution.

  • Good organizational skills

  • Developing presentations and experience communicating and building relationships with client team

  • Strong written communication skills and experience of writing technical reports.

  • Self-motivated and a good communication skills to enable effective team working.

  • Flexibility to work across a number of different projects.

  • Experience building simulation models in Hysys/Promax or similar simulation tool for complex simulations and ability to explain / train younger engineers

  • Experience of working on conceptual studies, FEED and EPC projects

The candidate must be self motivated and able to develop and train younger engineers as part of their responsibilities. You will also be expected to represent the company at technical conferences and present papers or presentations as appropriate.
