TEKsystems Software Administrator in Lenexa, Kansas

Description:

This role is on the same team but they will not be working as the ServiceNow Admin. They will be supporting all of the software and applications in their environment. This is a backfill for one of their Software Admins that is retiring. They have another Application Admin that is also a tier 3, but she works closer with the Developers and has a business analyst experience. This person will work closer with the infrastructure and security teams and integrating within the infrastructure and making sure it is Secure as well, so they will partner with the System Admins and Security Admin/Architects.

  • Have around 40-60 applications. Some are smaller, some are enterprise construction focused applications.

  • Need to understand how the applications work as far as the front end and back end of it, troubleshoot any issues, licensing, and communicating with multiple departments to solve any application questions or back end issues.

Responsibilities:

Client is seeking a Software Administrator to join our team in Lenexa, Kansas, at our corporate headquarters. Situated within the Support Services pillar of our Information Technology (IT) department at client, the primary focus of the Software Administrator is to manage and oversee the software applications used within our organization. The Software administrator will collaborate with various IT and business teams to ensure efficient deployment, maintenance, and user support of software solutions.

Core Responsibilities –

• Manage application and security administration throughout the lifecycle of an application

o Understand business objectives for applications

o Coordinate the configuration, administration, and management of applications based on business objectives and IT best practices

o Work closely with Software Vendors, Core Technology, Security and Development and Automation teams

o Maintain accurate software licenses, versions, and usage records to ensure compliance

o Monitor software performance and user feedback to identify areas for improvement

o Assist in creating and maintaining application documentation and deliver hands-on training for turnovers to Tier 1 and 2 support teams

o Review and implement any updates to applications following Change Management (RFC) processes

o Troubleshoot Tier 3 issues

• Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies related to software administration

• Understand security best practices and how it applies to software configuration, administration, and management

• Quickly determine and provide detailed documentation of issues regarding client Integrations and our 3rd party partners

• Deep dive into escalations and create documentation regarding a solution, workaround, or determining if development is required

• Escalate issues to 3rd party partners or Development and Automation teams

• Collaborate with Tier 1 and 2 teams to transfer troubleshooting steps through documentation and hands-on training

• Maintain a working knowledge of on-prem and cloud enterprise system configuration, deployment, and administration, including but not limited to Microsoft AD, Exchange, Azure AD, O365, and Teams

• Understand basic network and enterprise infrastructure fundamentals and the ability to troubleshoot those issues as they arise

• Recommend, develop, plan, manage, implement, support, and fully document IT projects within the organization

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

• 1-3 years of experience in software administration, software support, or a related role

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills and the ability to interact well across all levels of the business

• Team-first mentality, possesses a positive attitude and works well with others, encourages team cohesiveness and morale

• Ability to adapt/respond in a dynamic, fast-paced, customer-focused IT environment characterized by rapid change, minimal lead times, and multiple competing priorities

Preferred Requirements:

• Located in the KC Metro area

• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 suite

• ITIL Certified

• Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant Associate

• Experience with PowerBI and PowerApps

• Experience with PowerShell Administration

• Construction industry experience
