Shire Clinical Development Physician in Lexington, Massachusetts

The Associate Clinical Medicine Director will monitor the ongoing clinical studies in both the adult and pediatric SBS studies. The individual will serve as medical representative on the program team and subteams. S(he) will coordinate global study activity on the program in collaboration with colleagues conducting other studies and represent them at the team level.


Medical monitoring, contributing to strategic direction for the program, writing CSRs and NDA in collaboration with Clinical Operations and Regulatory Affairs. This individual will be the key Physician responsible for monitoring the studies conducted across all adult and pediatric indications globally. The associated medical director is expected to play a critical role the program’s success.

Education & Experience Requirements

MD required with at least 2 years experience in Clinical Research in either the pharmaceutical industry or academia. Experience in orphan drugs and/or training in gastroenterology or pediatrics preferred.

Other Requirements

Domestic and International travel required as necessary for face to face meetings with key stakeholders, meetings with external key stakeholders, and attendance at external scientific and business meetings related to area of focus.
