Shire Sales Reporting Manager in Lexington, Massachusetts

This position will support the CRM and Sales Reporting Lead and will be responsible for the processing, quality assurance, publication for all sales reports, dashboards and ad-hoc reports. The Sales Reporting Manager will be responsible for supporting day to day sales reporting and data operations, ensuring quality data reports and dashboards across multiple sales organizations. They will be responsible to identify stakeholders, risks, opportunities (e.g. performance improvements) and make recommendations to their internal sales customers.

The Sale Reporting Manager will work cross functionally with IT, Commercial Operations and multiple sales organizations. They will also manage and work closely with sales reporting platform vendors and their colleagues in Commercial Data Management to ensure quality reporting platforms and data.

This role will be the primary escalation point and SME for issues and questions with respect to the Reporting Platforms and related technologies, and will be expected to develop deep knowledge and expertise of the tools in order to answer questions, provide support, and ensure quality and adoption of the reporting tools. The sales reporting Manager will develop strong relationships with all stakeholders.

In their role, the Sales Reporting Manager will meet with business stakeholders and IT developers to identify enhancements and report/process improvements, create detailed requirements, document lessons learned and identify any gaps in high level requirements to ensure nothing is missing. They will also be responsible for ensuring quality checks, as well as support and training during the roll out. This position is expected to utilize a solid understanding of industry trends and solutions to be able to provide invaluable insights to the Shire commercial organization. This position will be responsible for supporting a wide array of reporting and data projects. These projects will include (but are not limited to) enhancements, launch roll outs, and sales reporting platform integrations.


Day to day sales reporting operations: maintain quality, reliable delivery of sales reporting platforms and solutions to the customer with appropriate information, planning, process and execution across. Example activities include: vendor management, data quality checks, ad hoc reporting, sales reporting training, etc.


Project Management of sales reporting enhancements, upgrades, integrations and launches. Example activities include: business requirement gathering, vendor management, user acceptance testing, user training, change management etc.


Collaborate cross functionally with sales, commercial operations, information technology and various vendors to ensure successful operations and projects.

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required, concentration in business, economics or marketing, operations, systems or other analytical/business fields preferred

  • Minimum number of 5-7 years of experience in sales/marketing operations/analysi

  • Experience with Pharmaceutical sub-national sales data, reporting and analytic

  • Experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry preferred

  • Ability to work well with others

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power Point.

The role will require the business acumen and industry experience to develop recommendations for senior executives, perform effective project management and develop meaningful partnerships with the Business Units sales and marketing teams.

Experience dealing with various interrelated, interdependent systems. Experience leveraging systems for process enablement and to provide compliance solutions. Demonstrated ability to provide high level influence without formal authority.
