Summary
The qualified applicant shall analyze computer science, engineering, and other software engineering problems to develop and implement solutions to complex applications problems, system design and development issues, or network. The selected candidate will perform software management and integration functions, improve existing computer systems, and review computer system capabilities, software architecture, throughput, real-time processing limitations, Cybersecurity, and software safety. They will analyze commercially available, open source, governmentfurnished,and Contractor furnished, and perform the role of Software Architect. The SW Engineer collaborates with other NAVAIR departments such as System/Software Safety and Cyber detachment in performance of duties and collaborates with the development team to design and develop new AR/VR capabilities integrating AR/VR tools with other simulation tools. The SW Engineer formalizes and documents software interfaces, VERDE Developer.
We have four (4) SWE opportunities that can be Journey or Senior Level. One of the positions seeks a SW Engineer with Acquisitions experience including CDRL reviews and support tech reviews.
Job Qualifications
ACTIVE SECRET OR TOP SECRET CLEARANCE REQUIRED
BS or BA degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Computer Engineering from a college program with ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc.) certification.Degree is REQUIRED, neither an associate degreenoradditional years of experience can be substituted for the degree.A senior SWE is required to have atleast ten (10) years of software engineering experience performing software requirements analysis, software design, software coding, software integration, and software testing. At least three (3) years of experience shall have consisted of performing software engineering functions for a DoD aircraft system, DoD weapons systems, Mission systems or support systems. A journeyman is required to have at least five (5) years of software engineering experience with at least three (3) years of the five (5) years having consisted of performing software engineering functions for a DoD aircraft, weapons, mission or support systems.
DoD 8570 certification requirements must be met. This may include an Operating System Certification in Windows or Linux and a Security+ce certification.
Tech Stack
Proficient in C# or similar object-oriented programming language
Experience with game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine
Experience with version control systems such as Git
Familiarity with AWS or other cloud computing platforms
