Description:
First Shift: 745am- 415pm
Second Shift: 4pm-1230am
The Press Helper will be responsible for inspecting and packaging product as it comes off the press. Further, the Press Helper will do any work needed to reduce the amount of non-productive work that Press Operators would otherwise need to do in order to get their presses running. Non-productive work includes cleaning, packaging, moving product, and getting press parts and accessories. His/her time will be allocated based on the urgency of the task at hand. Performing a wide variety of duties in the pressroom will provide the Press Helper with the knowledge needed to advance to become a Press Operator trainee or a Pre-Press set-up person.
Specific Duties:
•Inspect product as it comes off the press, at maximum press speeds.
•Package product as it comes off press, at maximum press speeds.
•Wash ink pumps, ink trays, and chamber blade units, and place them on the appropriate storage carts.
•Maintain the ink pumps, hoses, ink trays, and chamber blade units.
•Clean and lubricate the portable press accessories, such as fanfolders, sheeter tables, and turret rewinders.
•Clean the presses and press areas.
•Assisting press operators in wash-up and set-up.
•Cut cores.
•General pressroom housekeeping.
•Any other task as requested by the Press Operator or Supervisor.
