Job Purpose

Develop efficient manufacturing processes to produce customer designed components and assemblies. Provide resource and time estimations to the sales group to win opportunities and generate profit. Responsible for accurately estimating costs and timelines for machining projects while ensuring excellent communication and collaboration with various departments. Convert new quote requests from sales into new work for production to aid sales revenue and margin goals.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Document detailed and clear job methods to be followed by manufacturing and quality teams for production.

  • Prepare accurate and competitive job estimates for customer-required quotes, considering materials, labor, machine time, and other relevant factors.

  • Leverage experience as a CNC Machinist/programmer/engineer to understand the intricacies of machining processes and their associated costs.

  • Team player, positive attitude and communicates effectively with Sales, CNC Programmers, Engineering, and other related departments to ensure the accuracy of quotations. Act as a liaison to build a network for sharing ideas and addressing questions. Coordinate with outside services to provide completed products per customer specification.

  • Be customer-facing and assist the sales department with technical questions, providing technical expertise and support as needed during customer calls or meetings. Act as a troubleshooter, identify potential challenges in project execution and propose solutions to ensure successful project delivery. Analyze completed jobs for quoted accuracy and profitability. Take action to improve production methods and/or quoted times. Collaborate with sales for required

  • Develop automated quoting process from customer submitted solid models.

  • Contribute to CAPEX process by recommending machining and automation equipment and software.

  • Apply additive manufacturing to fixture and work holding design and build. Develop measuring techniques for complex parts and machine measuring utilizing necessary technologies.

Knowledge / Skills / Experience

Software : Solidworks, Mastercam

Knowledge : CNC machining, related manufacturing processes such as laser cutting, waterjet, grinding, polishing, EDM, additive manufacturing

Experience : Collaborative robots and integration with CNC equipment. Cutting tool technology. Familiarity of Metrology equipment CMM, laser and optical inspection, data acquisition

Education : Bachelor’s degree in sciences; Mechanical / Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience

Pay Transparency (complete highlighted sections)

  • The salary range for this position is $69,610 - $86,995. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
