Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Clerk

Job Description

The Shipping & Warehouse Clerk is responsible for handling incoming and outgoing shipments, organizing inventory, and moving materials efficiently. This role requires practicing smart operating techniques to ensure team safety, using warehouse software for accurate logging, and operating forklifts and pallet jacks to pick orders and load trucks.

Responsibilities

  • Practice smart operating techniques to ensure the safety of the entire team.

  • Use warehouse software to accurately log product locations.

  • Pick orders using standing forklifts and pallet jacks, and load trucks according to schedule.

  • Hand sort and stack parts when necessary.

  • Wrap and package products coming out of production departments.

  • Unload inbound trucks and place items in warehouse utilizing warehouse software.

  • Fill out trailer logs to ensure accurate load information.

  • Visually inspect parts picked for any rust or noticeable flaws.

  • Pull non-conforming inventory and place in quarantine location with proper labeling.

  • Record job progress data accurately both handwritten and through ERP software.

Essential Skills

  • Shipping and warehouse operations

  • Packer experience

  • Forklift and pallet jack operation

  • Unloading and inventory management

  • Comfortable with heights for turret truck operation

  • Minimum of 6+ months tenure in most recent position

  • Consistent job tenure of 1 year or more in an industrial/production position

  • 2+ years of experience in production, manufacturing, or machine operation environment

  • 1+ year of forklift or pallet jack experience

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Comfortable with heights

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-growing environment

  • Experience in a top fabrication shop

Work Environment

The work environment is a large sheet metal facility equipped with heating and air conditioning, located in Airpark. The shift runs Monday through Thursday, with mandatory overtime on Fridays when applicable, from 6 AM to 4:30 PM. The team is expected to grow to 35 members overseen by the warehouse supervisor. The dress code includes steel-toe shoes, jeans, solid t-shirts in designated colors (white, black, red, or gray), and denim jeans, with shorts permitted during hotter months. Welders are provided with sleeves, and Aerotek shirts are also permitted.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lincoln, Nebraska.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
