Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Linthicum Heights, Maryland

Description We are in search of a meticulous Accounts Payable Clerk to be a part of our team located in Linthicum Heights, Maryland. The selected candidate will be primarily responsible for processing payment runs and voids, reconciling payments, researching returned checks, and auditing refunds. This role is a temporary position, offering an opportunity to work within the telecom industry.


• Oversee the payment operations within the department, including payment processing and escheatment process.

• Reconcile credit card accounts monthly and liaise with vendors if payment is not taken within a specified period.

• Request refund checks for open credit balances that have been on the account for more than three months, ensuring all incoming checks are correctly entered in the system.

• Reconcile the list of void transactions related to checks issued during prior fiscal years.

• Generate reports for management as required, ensuring data accuracy.

• Play an active role in system changes and upgrades by attending project meetings, gathering functional specifications, and participating in testing all Payment Operations related changes and upgrades.

• Utilize skills in Accounts Payable (AP), MS Excel, Reconcile Bank Account, Refund Checks, Create Reports, MS Word, Medical Payment Poster, Payment Processing, and Reconcile Vendor Statements for daily operations and tasks.

• Maintain accurate customer credit records.

• Monitor customer credit accounts and take the necessary action to collect delinquent payments. Requirements

• Must have a minimum of three years of experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or in a similar role.

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) procedures and processes is essential.

• Must be adept at using MS Excel and MS Word.

• Should have experience in reconciling bank accounts and vendor statements.

• Experience in refunding checks, payment processing, and creating reports is required.

• Familiarity with medical payment poster tasks is a plus.

• Strong skills in reconcilement and detail-oriented work are necessary.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills are required.

• Should possess strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.

• Must be able to handle confidential information with discretion.
