Description

Robert Half is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper who will be responsible for managing payroll reconciliation, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping, particularly in reconciling payroll accounts and managing general ledger entries. Attention to detail, analytical skills, and a commitment to accuracy are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform payroll reconciliation to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.

  • Manage and maintain general ledger accounts, including posting journal entries and reconciling accounts.

  • Process payroll transactions, including employee compensation, benefits, taxes, and deductions.

  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management as needed.

  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to resolve payroll discrepancies and ensure accurate record-keeping.

  • Assist with month-end and year-end financial closing processes.

  • Maintain confidentiality of payroll and financial data at all times.

  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in payroll and bookkeeping.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, preferably with expertise in payroll reconciliation.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and MS Excel.

  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, taxes, and regulations.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Bookkeeper or in payroll processing (e.g., CPP, CB, CPB).

  • Experience with ADP, Paychex, or other payroll processing software.

  • Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.

  • Previous experience in [specific industry/sector].
