The successful candidate must live in one of the states that make up the region the position is managing. Requires the ability to work on site at the hospitals the position is managing.

Purpose

In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors a Supply Chain Leader actively: guides, trains, mentors and monitors Supply Chain colleagues while contributing to the development and execution of Departmental, Ministry and System Office based strategic plans. Provides operations &/or optimization leadership focus; May provide leadership & direction through managers; Balances between staff leadership, broader organizational direction & administration; Accountable for the performance, regulatory readiness & results of a single large, strategic area in a medium to large-sized single functional domain within a limited geography.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or higher in Business Administration, Finance, or related field or an equivalent

combination of education and experience.

• Six (6) to seven (7) years progressively responsible experience with 4-5 years in Value Analysis or closely

related discipline.

• Verifiable 2-3 years of leadership experience in a progressive work environment with complex,

multidisciplinary teams.

Physical and Mental Requirements & Working Conditions

Indirect / Healthcare Support Services: (OSHA: Healthcare support services mean services that facilitate

the provision of healthcare services.)

• Rare clinical / patient facing work environment.

• Includes continuous work time indoors (subject to travel requirements) under temperature-controlled & well-lit conditions; may encounter occasional variable external environmental conditions.

• Includes occasional lifting, up to 30 pounds unassisted, frequent travel & use of computer; Includes

continuous sitting & may require rare long periods of continued walking, standing, stooping, bending,

pulling & pushing.

Direct Healthcare & Indirect / Support Healthcare Services: must be able to:

• Adapt to frequent interruptions, shifting priorities & stressful situations; Attend to tasks until complete,

understand & relate to complex ideas & concepts & be able to remember multiple tasks & regimens

extending over long periods of time & work on concurrent tasks / projects.

• Read small print, frequent ability to hear normal sounds & voice patterns, able to give / receive

instructions & other verbal communications in-person & over the phone / computer / device /

equipment assigned with some background noise.

• Perform frequent manual dexterity activities & occasional grasping/handling.

• Continuous attention to maintain a safe working environment & use of available personal protective

equipment (PPE).

• Comply with Trinity Health’s policies & procedures.

Direct patient care means hands-on, face-to-face contact with patients for the purpose of diagnosis,

treatment, and monitoring. Healthcare services mean services that are provided to individuals by professional healthcare practitioners (e.g., doctors, nurses, emergency medical personnel, oral health professionals) for the purpose of promoting, maintaining, monitoring, or restoring health. Healthcare services are delivered through various means including: Hospitalization, long-term care, ambulatory care, home health and hospice care, emergency medical response, and patient transport. For the purposes of this section, healthcare services include autopsies. Healthcare support services mean services that facilitate the provision of healthcare services. Healthcare support services include patient intake/admission, patient food services, equipment and facility maintenance, housekeeping services, healthcare laundry services, medical waste handling services, and medical equipment cleaning/reprocessing services.

• Serves as organizational resource for leading initiatives that balance optimal clinical outcomes with

appropriate product utilization and supply stewardship within assigned service area. Develops collaborative system-wide Value Analysis programs, scaled to the organization that will foster accountability and enhance optimal supply spend in all Med/Surg product categories within assigned service area. Directs activities that create closed supply formularies, increasing contract compliance while reducing stock keeping units (SKU's), using a clinically driven standardization process within assigned service area.

• Supply Status: Researches and identifies functional product equivalents and/or other conservation methods for supply chain disruptions.

• Value Analysis: Provide support and/or oversight to stakeholder and service line teams to develop spend

• Management strategies in new product and technology reviews, utilization management and reduction of waste. Ensures there is a balance between service line profitability and clinical effectiveness. Responsible for leading value analysis process and governance, identifying and tracking savings opportunities, and staying current with major developments and changes within the assigned commodities.

• Capital Purchasing: Provides guidance on strategic capital when disposable patient care items are

impacted.

• Strategic Sourcing: Responsible for compliance to applicable local, regional and System Office and GPO

contracts as identified by Trinity Health Strategic Sourcing.

• Vendor Management: Complies with Trinity Health Supplier Policy and related Procedures
