The Global Product Solutions (GPS) team is responsible for product strategy, development, and range management activities for EMEA pooled funds. Recently formed by combining several businesses, GPS drives the business strategy, innovation, and commercialization of our full investment platform, unlocking new growth opportunities across Active, iShares, and Private Markets. Our team manages BlackRock’s large and diverse range of funds, one of the most dynamic and diverse in the industry, with 1500+ funds domiciled out of 9 countries. The team manages the region’s Product Development Committee and designs bespoke products to help clients optimize existing product offerings.

Job Purpose/Background:

The GPS team at BlackRock is increasing its profile and influence as it leads key strategic initiatives and platform-wide projects, such as our response to new European regulation and our ESG product proposition. With a strong pipeline for 2024 and beyond, the team is managing a high volume of new products and client solutions. To replace a recently vacated position, we are seeking to appoint a Product Developer in GPS.

The Product Development team within GPS focuses on delivering scale and excellence in product structuring, delivery, and governance. This high-profile role is business-critical, given the importance of product in driving the firm’s growth in this region and the regulatory focus on product governance. The individual will lead on both individual products and contribute to the product platform as a whole, with a likely focus on Private Markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver private markets strategies across all client segments

  • Partner with and facilitate productive ongoing dialogue across BlackRock teams on key product issues

  • Stay curious and enthusiastic about product landscape, competitor offerings and client needs

  • Assume ownership and accountability for successful execution of product initiatives

  • Help plan and prioritize the product pipeline according to commercial and strategic considerations, to maximize resource efficiency

  • Acquire and maintain a detailed understanding of BlackRock’s processes, operating environment, and investment products as well as regulatory and structuring requirements, and seek to educate business partners and shape product development process accordingly

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Background in Law or Finance, ideally from the Asset Management industry

  • Experience in delivering complex cross-functional initiatives

  • Knowledge of private markets, in particular product structuring, distribution, and investment management considerations.

  • Ability to work with multiple teams to deliver projects according to priorities and within set timelines

  • Aptitude to influence key stakeholders and decision makers to drive progress, commit resources and get buy-in

  • Ability to resolve outstanding issues, escalating when necessary

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Strong BlackRock organizational awareness and intellectual curiosity to build product and market knowledge

  • Outstanding work ethic

  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Our hybrid work model
