Overview The Department of Veterinary Clinical and Life Sciences (VCLS) in the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) at Utah State University (USU) is seeking applicants for a tenure track or professional practice assistant or associate professor of veterinary pharmacology position with the assignment of 60% research, 35% teaching, and 5% service (for tenure-track), or 60% teaching, 35% research, and 5% service (for professional practice).  This is a tenure-track, fiscal-year (12-month) position with an  anticipated start date of July 1, 2024. Review of applications will begin March 20, 2024, and continue until the position has been filled.

The candidate will provide instruction in basic veterinary pharmacology in the veterinary medical curriculum and develop and carry out a research program that includes mentoring students to engage in quality research. The successful candidate will also seek external funding to support their research program and publish scholarship in peer-reviewed scientific outlets.

This candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of veterinary professionals by delivering pharmacology instruction in the new Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree curriculum. In this capacity, the candidate is also expected to develop and implement innovative teaching methodologies, assessment tools, and evaluation criteria to measure veterinary students' mastery throughout the program's entirety. This candidate will also contribute to other curriculum activities associated with their expertise.
