WTW Account Director - Downstream in London, United Kingdom

The Account Director at WTW UK will be responsible for providing specialised insurance broking services for clients within the power and energy sector. This includes identifying client needs, negotiating with underwriters, and placing insurance coverage that meets client requirements. You will work closely with clients to develop risk management strategies and provide advisory services that align with their business objectives.

The Role

As part of the team, your key responsibilities are:

  • Understand the clients’ business and risk transfer needs and offer solutions to fulfil those needs through the provision of ongoing service.

  • Understand, apply and where necessary explain the BU policies and procedures.

  • Establish and maintain active relationships with our clients, retail offices and (Re)Insurers.

  • Provide technical, industry and subject matter expertise where required.

  • Draw on expertise within the team and across the Group for clients as required.

  • Liaise with clients and build strong relationships.

  • Determine appropriate solutions, structure, price and placement strategies that meet the clients’ needs and wishes and deliver profitable business for a range of clients.

The Requirements

  • Successful Natural Resources Insurance experience, within Broking or Underwriting.

  • Proven track record of relationships, strategies, and program design.

  • Build and Strengthen relationships in the Natural Resources Downstream market locally and overseas.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence within a matrix environment.

  • Excellent skills in problem solving, planning, and budgeting.

  • High levels of business and financial acumen with an understanding of company strategy and change management.

  • All Inclusive facilitation skills – able to use inclusive and collaborative styles to manage ambiguity and gain agreement.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.

  • Ability to demonstrate evidence of a highly professional and credible approach across the market.

  • Preferably with professional qualifications, e.g. ACII or similar country equivalent, or relevant industry experience.
