Description
Amazon Security Operations Center (SOC) is looking for a talented Security Industry Specialist to join the Physical Operations (PhysOps) Team. A candidate would possess a strong expertise in incident management/response pertaining to physical and logical security, combined with a genuine enthusiasm for learning new things and working in a dynamic environment.
This role requires the security industry specialist to work tactically with both internal and external stakeholders to solve security challenges at massive scale, and to think strategically to develop and implement changes to drive incident management, scalability and continuous progress for the organization.
Key job responsibilities
Be able to assess physical vs. business risks and consistently drive internal teams to take the right actions in the appropriate time frames to mitigate risks.
Have a good mix of broad and deep physical and technical security knowledge.
Be proficient in incident management security operations, risk analysis, and emergent security intelligence.
Possess a combination of troubleshooting, technical, and communication skills.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in a security discipline, Computer Science, (or) 5+ years’ equivalent security operations center or security incident management experience.
Ability to work any shift pattern within the 24/7/365 operation including days, nights, holidays and weekends.
4+ years or more of proven experience with a focus in areas such as incident management.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to effectively articulate risk with team members and audiences of all levels.
Understanding of security infrastructure and general IT knowledge.
Experience with Microsoft applications and Operating Systems
Ability to independently collect, research, and analyze technical information from a variety of sources to solve problems, troubleshoot systems, and build solutions
Experience engaging in project management, tracking timelines, and participating in planning and executing tasks within project milestones.
Demonstrating the ability to produce/present reports for senior managers, internal departments, and external stakeholders regarding projects, risks, and initiatives.
Knowledge of Internet security issues, cloud architectures, and threat landscape.
Knowledge of virtualization technologies, especially with Amazon Security services.
