Our Team, Product Platforms,is part of a thriving engineering community in Technology who design, develop and operate all of News UK's customer facing products and platforms. Our role within News UK is to support product development by establishing best practices and approaches, identifying opportunities for reuse and supporting brand & title teams. One way which we aim to realise this is through building adesign system (http://newskit.co.uk) that will be used as the foundation to build world class products across News UK and News Corp.

You are a software engineer with a passion for building world class products.
You strive to build the best possible experience for the end user though applying best practices and guidelines to ensure a performant and accessible experience.
You are always thinking about the underlying software architecture and how we can continually improve it.
You take pride in your work, you write clean code and live by S.O.L.I.D. principles.
You are an advocate of Test Driven Development and understand why it's important to the way you write code.
You champion pair programming.
You are comfortable working in an Agile environment and know the value of the agile ceremonies.
You have a passion for solving complex problems.
You are a team player and love collaborating with others.
You are actively involved in software community events or meetup's.
You enjoy working in a social workplace.
You have experience in:
Building React based web applications or component libraries.
JS testing frameworks, we use: Jest, Cypress, React Testing Library, Enzyme.
Version control, CI/CD pipeline and DevOps practices.
The ability to mentor and coach junior members of the team.
Bonus if you have experience in:
Working with or even better building Design systems
Building accessible interfaces
Understanding of SEO
Webpack and Lerna
Experience in AWS cloud platform, working knowledge of Kubernetes
Experience in creating / managing CircleCI pipelines
