The B2B Payments and Lending team provides invoicing, working capital and payment acceptance solutions to Amazon Business customers, sellers and other small business customers across Amazon. B2B Payments and Lending Credit Strategy and Operations team is looking for a Sr. Portfolio Manager to join the B2B Payments team to manage the credit performance of the North America Pay by Invoice portfolio. The successful candidate will be a thought leader who can help build and scale a best-in-class credit management program. The candidate will be responsible for managing the portfolio from a risk perspective to drive spend while staying within a target loss rate. In this role, the candidate will drive credit policy changes and procedures, inform automated decisioning and monitoring systems and enable credit decisions based on the customer’s financials and credit worthiness. The ideal candidate should possess strong people and credit management skills, directly support continuous improvement initiatives, be highly analytical, resourceful, Customer-focused and team oriented, with outstanding communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders. This is a management role directly managing a team of risk managers; demonstrated success managing a team is a must.

The position is based in London.

Key job responsibilities

  • Developing credit strategies to profitably grow invoice financing portfolio with a balance of risk controls, proactive identification of emerging portfolio hotspots

  • Regularly evaluate and enhance growth and loss mitigation policies, and drives net-new initiatives for on-boarding, underwriting and exposure management

  • Highly resourceful, customer-focused, team oriented

  • Possess strong credit management skills

  • Have a strong desire in innovating processes and exceed expectations in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, primarily driving innovation on behalf of small and large buyers alike

  • Must possess the ability to break down complex problem in smaller, simplified work streams

  • Articulate to different audience in both verbal and written communication

  • Work in a fast paced, highly demanding and often ambiguous environment, with strong attention to detail.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, or related field or equivalent experience

• Robust data management skills, including the ability to be hands-on and dive deep into details, identifying root cause and propose solutions

• Experience in credit analysis and credit risk management for financial services, banks, credit bureaus or fintech companies

• Hands-on experience of working with data tools/languages such as SQL, R, Python or SAS

• Able to build positive business relationships and work collaboratively with cross-functional and diverse teams

• Exhibits excellent business judgment and work with a structured approach to design, plan and execute

• Results-oriented: Proven track record of on-time project/program delivery for large, cross-functional projects

• Has relentlessly high standards in your deliverables (eg. documents, codes, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, or related field or equivalent experience

• Hands-on experience of scaling products and/or teams from grounds up

• Experience in automating, optimizing and simplifying complex manual processes to drive operational efficiency

• Working knowledge of European language such as Spanish / French / German

• Experience identifying opportunities for improvement and build strategic programs from such opportunities

• Experience in a “customer-first” environment, with a passion for uncovering insights and translating them into actionable projects / programs

• Ability to think and react in a high-pressure environment.
